| BoL | Bill of Lading. Shipping document acknowledging receipt of cargo |
| CEP | Courier, Express, Parcel. Industry segment |
| CFM | Cash Flow Management — or contextually, customer flow management |
| CNV | Consignment Verification — weight + volume check at hub |
| COD | Cash on Delivery |
| Consignment | A package / shipment being moved |
| Debagging | Removing consignments from a bag at the destination hub |
| Demurrage | Charge for keeping containers beyond the allowed free time |
| DO | Delivery Order |
| EDMS | Electronic Document Management System (in BDO context: the orchestration platform for card delivery) |
| EWB | E-Way Bill. Indian tax compliance document for goods movement |
| FLM | First-Last Mile |
| Gate in / Gate out | Vehicle entering / leaving a hub |
| Geofence | Virtual geographic boundary; alerts fire when crossed |
| Hub | Physical sorting / staging location |
| HS code | Harmonised System code — global product classification for customs |
| In-scan | Scanning a consignment into a hub |
| Last mile | Final leg from hub to customer |
| LEO | Let Export Order. Customs document for exports |
| LFD | Last Free Day — last day before demurrage charges start |
| Linehaul | Long-distance trunk movement between hubs |
| LSP | Logistics Service Provider |
| Manifest | List of shipments on a vehicle / vessel |
| MCM | Multi-Carrier Management. Orchestrating across multiple 3PLs |
| Middle mile | Hub-to-hub movement |
| NDR | Non-Delivery Report — reason a delivery failed |
| OFD | Out For Delivery |
| OMS | Order Management System |
| POD | Proof of Delivery — signature, photo, ID scan |
| PUDO | Pickup / Drop Off — locker or store-based delivery |
| RPP | Revenue Per Parcel |
| RTO / RTS | Return To Origin / Return To Sender |
| SLA | Service Level Agreement |
| TAT | Turnaround Time |
| TMS | Transportation Management System |
| TOS | Terminal Operating System (used at ports) |
| Trip | A driver’s set of deliveries for a shift |
